Summer Camps Activities
Here are some summer camps activities:
Waterfront activities- that may include kayaking or canoeing, swimming, paddle boats, diving platforms, monster blobs, water slides.
Water activities are a great part of summer camp, remember the canoe races or the swimming relays? Some camps have sunning/diving platforms for those who are a little braver. A popular item at many camps is the "monster blob", a giant air bag that when used properly can launch you sky high into the lake. A staple of some are the giant slides into the cold water.
Traditional sports- Baseball, football, volleyball, basketball, frisbee, tug of war, capture the flag.
You can't ignore the traditional sports at summer camp. Softball is great fun for co-ed teams. Volleyball by the lake is very popular and everyone can play. Don't forget frisbee, it is not equipment heavy and can tire our the most active kids.
Day trips- Local points of interest.
Wonderful opportunities to get to know the local area exist right near most summer camps.
Hiking- nature walks, night hikes, solo, orienteering, map and compass hikes.
From science hikes that educate to learning how to read a map, hiking offers some awesome fun at summer camp. Night hikes also are very memorable, exploring a whole new world that comes out at night.
Outdoor adventure sports- Rock climbing, bungee jumping, zip lines, ropes courses, rapeling, wind surfing, white water kayaking.
Adventure sports offer fun you can't get at home. Rock climbing walls are a safe way to get started in this fantastic sport. Zip lines are very popular and a test of ones courage. Rope courses can be used as a group building exercise or team building.
